- Fill all the cracks before applying Gaumaya Roofshield
- Recommend a forced coverage of 10 sq. ft./L
- Priming coat (30% diluted): approximately 30–40 sq.ft/L
- 1st coat: approximately 20 sq.ft/L (10-15% dilution)
- 2nd coat: approximately 20 sq.ft/L (10-15% dilution)
- Total system coverage: 10 sq.ft/L for a durable roof waterproofing membrane
- Do not apply during rains or extreme temperature (Application temperature range 5-35 degree Celsius)
Painting Care:
- Ensure that surface is properly cleaned and free from any loosely held plaster/powder.
- Cracks up to 3 mm on the surface are filled with Crack Seal
- Suitable slope is provided to the roof to avoid water ponding
- Apply three coat of Damproof Roofshield on terrace to get the benefit of terrace temperature reduction upto 70%. Dilute first coat with water with a dilution ratio of 25-30% and second/third coat without dilution or max 10-15% depending upon the Surface.
- Apply Dampproof Roofshield on a sunny day offering a minimum drying time of 24 hours between two coats. In case of Cloudy days offer at least 2 to 4 days for drying depending upon the drying condition before applying 2nd Coat.
- Restrict access to painted terraces till the applied Dampproof Roofshield is not dried completely. Recommend to offer atleast 2 to 3 days before allowing movement on terrace for better result.
- Do not try to stretch coverage beyond ~10 sq ft/L for the system; this figure ensures the membrane thickness and waterproofing performance intended by the manufacturer.
- Make sure surface preparation, dilution ratio, cure time, and joint reinforcement are all followed (especially for terraces with drains, parapets, etc.) to get the promised 10-year warranty.
- If the surface is vertical (walls etc), the forced coverage is different (≈ 40-60 sq ft/L) but for horizontal/terrace surfaces use the 10 sq ft/L value (3 coats)
